NWIL | Someone who has never ran a draper and is coming from an old 25' auger head will think the 3162 does a great job. And it is a step up.
Someone who has been running a flex draper for many years (IE, a MacDon) and moves into a 3162 will be disappointed in a high percentage of the cases and be back out shopping again. Now however, there are several other brands/models out there that are an improvement, including several that have come onto the market over the last decade, the good ol MD, an AirFlex, a Ghoff, Deere, etc.
There are exceptions to everything of course, but by and large my above two statements seem to hold true.
I sure wouldn't consider a fair or average condition 3162, or an early model year, at any price, it would have to be a NICE series II at a low price to get tempted by one.
