I have never been quite satisfied with the linkage and spring set-up on the AgLeader header height sensor. It doesn't seem to show an infinite up and down percentage. In other words, it seems that I can lower header "sometimes" a couple inches and get no change in the monitor reading. Sometimes it does change with just a small amount of header height. I am giving thought to possibly moving the sensing point rearward on the feeder house to shorten the stroke from full up to full down and maybe trying to use a rigid rod with ball rod ends to attach from feeder house to the sensor. Has anyone attempted doing something of this nature? I think the stretch in spring having to overcome the spring load in the sensor is the reason it won't register infinite readings. My application applies specifically to a 9600. Anyone that has done something different to overcome the shortcomings, please post what you did. Thanks |
