Clark County, SE Illinois | We would like to move our Auto Pilot into the planting tractor this spring. Part of the time, when planting seed corn, we have an extra row on one side of the planter. This extra row plants a half-rate of male corn and is planted twice. In other words when I turn in the direction of the extra row, that outside male row runs back over the same path. This makes the effective width of the planter 31.25 ft. I believe that if I offset the GPS antenna 7.5 inches towards the extra row, and the width is set for 31.25 ft, that I will correctly space my swaths. My question is will a tractor steer correctly with the receiver not mounted exactly in the center?? We just had this brainstorm over the weekend, and haven't been able to talk to the dealer yet. I appriciate any thoughts you might have about this. Thanks |
