coast of Maine
Wy back in 1978 the state decided to re-introduce them here.Perhaps the dumbest move by the state on animals.Taste like crap.Fees to hunt way high. Not many want to bother to hunt them.Population has exploded.Have seen 100 at a time in our fields. They poop on dairy guys feed in bunker silos. They claw away at the poly on our berry beds and this allows weed growth thru every hole. We have permit to kill all we need to.Eagles love dead turkeys. The turkeys consume acorns and they line up and sweep a forest clean. The deer that used to eat acorns have now become veg/fruit farmers problem. The daylight feeding on crops never happened until turkeys ate their other food source. The birds they stocked were from a line that had human interaction. This means our turkey flock is not at all scared of humans. The friggers are fed at bird feeders by many.Humanized dumb as stump tick carrying avian flu bearing crap filled feces leaving dumb birds here.
