Start it up, take the plug out the top, pour water in it as it’s running. I like to see it churning right at the hole. Keep topping it off. Reach over and lift up on the suction hose. If it feels heavy it’s getting close. Start screwing the priming cap back in. Keep it loose. Soon as it catches, tighten it down.
