Subject: Why do some fields blow?

NW IA
50+ mph wind yesterday, obviously that's the reason, but... Why do some fields blow like the dust bowl when others don't? In our area only 1 field blew bad yesterday. Couldn't see across the road blowing dirt so bad. The field was soybeans in 23 - vertical tilled with Excellerator last fall, corn in 22 - high speed disked that fall. Nothing done this spring, not even worked very black, just smooth. Other fields around with much more intense tillage didn't blow at all. Odd that only one field would pick up and blow. Biologically dead soil?
