Subject: RE: Max wind speed to fly drone

Chebanse, IL.....

One thing that might help if one is concerned about getting the drone back to take-off site in high winds is to drop down on altitude and fly at lowest possible SAFE altitude. If obstacles or people are not a problem, the consider 5-10' altitude. Due to surface friction, the windspeed is usually lower close to the ground than at 100-400'. That's one minor problem with the "Return to Home" button. It tells the drone to climb to higher altitude which consumes more battery & higher wind speeds.

Of course the converse is true if you're returning to home with a tail wind. Go for the altitude.
