Get yourself a digital anemometer to accurately measure wind speed before you fly.
I bought one some years ago to make go /no go decision for spraying chemicals using tractor mounted sprayer. Funny thing about people thinking what wind speeds are. They always are estimating wind speed too high, 5-10 mph and more above what anemometer shows. Stand in an open field and guess what the speed may be, then measure it and you will see what I mean. In my experience with anemometer, I wouldn't even consider flying at 10 mph. 10 mph is a pretty stout breeze. A sudden gust at 20 mph will blow your hat off your head.
