Pittsburg, Kansas | We used to raise a variety of Pioneer that was designated as food grade. We did not raise it or sell it into that market. Ours just went into poultry feed with all the other yellow corn. But it was supposed to meet the milling requirements for some food. Might have been corn chips or tortilla chips.
The reason we raised it was it handled our hot pollination weather well and yielded well for our rather low yielding area.
