Correcting astigmatism with cataract surgery requires a special type if lens which Medicare doesn't pay for.....you'd be responsible for the difference between the regular lens and the astigmatism lens. In my SIL's case, there was a failure of communication and she didn't get the astigmatism lens on her 1st eye. Did get it on the 2nd and is much a happier with her outcome. Just be informed one way or the other before you go in. |
