Mid-Missouri | Due to mis-communication, 6 weeks ago we had two 13 foot passes around a pasture get mowed for hay. It shouldn't have been done because the pasture was overgrazed in the spring. The two passes also got raked into one windrow. The round was forgotten when the baler was in the area. Until a week ago, we have had many rains and the crops have been looking great, although it was a wet start. Now, driving by this pasture, the grass is substantially taller and greener where the windrow was left on the grass compared to beside the windrow. Although the windrow wasn't exceptionally thick, I thought if anything, it would hurt the grass underneath. What happened here? Thanks. | |
