It is a genetic, metabolic thing. People’s body rhythms are genetically defined and  change characteristically over time. Lots of research on learning in kids. Adolescents, in general, don’t learn well in the morning. It is also influenced by experience. If you grew up before electric lights, row specific planter monitors, etc. it affects your “beliefs”.

Our sleep patterns of today, which are defined by clocks, are totally artificial.
