Well any cover is better than none.

If you spend that kind of money you want it to work.

Oats would make a cheap cover after soybeans, corn probably rye going back to beans.

Get one of Steve's packets and play around with it. Broadcast a handful in corn and beans and observe how they grow so you can make a better decision in the future.
