Thunder Bay, Ontario, Great White North
If it froze here in 2 weeks, I'd probably be able to salvage most of the barley for silage, but soys and corn would be a disaster. My corn is intended for silage and I have yet to see a tassel, to make a decent crop we will need lots of heat and no frost until the end of September. Possible, but not very likely. No crop insurance of any type on my barley, soys or corn. I've been thinking about some options for salvaging wet corn with tiny cobs but nothing looks like it would make dairy feed, I guess I'll keep praying for heat and am thankful the cows will be able to pay the bills regardless of how things turn out in the next couple months.
I had hail on 1/4 of my corn acres last week, if I can salvage any feed from that patch it will take a miracle.
