Subject: Re: Hail Damage Corn-Pics

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
Looks like a field I have that was hailed at the smae stage two weeks ago or so. It is pollinating although the ears seem a little smaller. I'm thinking more likely about 50 to 70% damage at most. It will make corn.
In order to get 100% damage you have to have complete defoliation and nearly all tassles knocked off. I've seen the hail chart the adjusters use. There are about 150 boxes on it with stages and % defoliation. There is only ONE box on the whole chart for 100% loss...at tassel with 100% defoliation. Usually if there is anything left standing you can't get 100%.
