SW Saskatchewan
I had forgotten to mention the PTO-the gear train (and the motor)on those MM dated back to the 30's with various modifications over the years- from 4 cylinders to 6, and speed changes until with the models that became the MF 97, the 540 pto was running well over 800 rpm at rated speed. A neighbour had a g-1000 which I think had to surpass a case 1030 as the worlds worst tractor!

Had baled straw with one on 80 acre fields-don't think I would ever have had the gear jamming finesse to bale a ditch with one.

But I am ashamed to admit that I put a kid out on one hitched to a ground drive degelman rock picker one July. Made a man out of him trying to get that machine lined up with a rock!
