I bought my 535 new in 1996. A year later Deere sent me a new density control valve. It seems there was a problem with some of them. Can you swap it with a neighbors and see if it helps?
The needle on my gauge will drop a little when wrapping, maybe from 2 O clock to 12 O clock at most.
535 Deere baler.......density adjustment.
