Wouldn't work in my soils.  I used to take 12 rows with 11 coulters with a larger nozzle on the outside rows to get 1 and 1/2 rate.   Numerous times I saw pale corn in that skip row.  My next toolbar had 17 coulters for 16 rows with half rate on the outside, which gets hit twice on the next pass.

Now my coulters are set about 7.5" to the side of the row.

I have vary heavy clays.
