Subject: Need advice on big truck air conditoner

Northeast Louisiana
I am replacing the condensor, the one in front of the radiator because its been beaten to death by bugs and etc. Once I replace it and the dryer, the compressor and expansion valve is good and working. The condensor is not letting air flow through and too beaten up to comb out fins. The system is on R 134 which it cools fair. It used to be R 12 from factory. The question is will freeze 12 be a good choice? I never used any of it. I also have license to purchase R 12 freon. Its rather expensive but tempting to buy it anyway. I want my truck to "chunck snowballs". Its been just barely keeping me from sweating.
Any tips?
Thanks in advance!
