I'm trying a test. I inserted a link to the small image with the tree icon. Then, I clicked on the image to select it. That made the chain icon active. I opened the chain icon and dropped in the link to the larger image. Now to see if that works.

Well, that seems to work, if I understood the original question correctly. A bit of a pain, though, if you are doing a whole bunch of links.
