I have been taking a low dose of simvastatin for over 15 years or more without problems. Once when I had pains in my legs and shoulder the doc took me off of Zocor/simvastatin which did not help the situation, so I continued to take the simvastatin. The muscle pain turned out to be a totally different problem.
