Pittsburg, Kansas | A scuba dive club we used to belong to many years ago each year at a local lake would have a crawdad hunt. You could do it snorkeling or scuba diving. It happened at night when they were out scavenging. Prizes for biggest, most, ect. When everybody brought in all the crawdads for the end of the contest they would go into a pot of boiling water with crab boil spices in the water. Then everyone ate them. I'm not a big seafood lover (although I have gotten where I like it better since low carb) but my wife scarfed them up and said they tasted just like lobster to her. There were not any leftovers, they all got scarfed up, from the tiniest ones to a few that were pretty good sized. They were definitely "fresh". My wife has tried the ones from the grocery store on ice and pretty well turned her nose up on them, which is unusual for her.
