MT-ND | Yeah, this year we have standing water in gumbo clay. We had to follow the planting tractor with another with a tow rope but the grass and alfalfa is armpit high and everything is so green and growing! No need to be plowing firebreaks now like the last 3 years. Everything germinated too, compared to last year where it did and died on the way up due to lack of moisture.
In a flood you can dry things out, but after a fire all you can do is sweep up the ashes and move on. With water you can save things, with fire it's just plain gone.
