In the 70s, the markets would blind side you over night. Bean market was at 9.30 and dropped to $ 8.00 over night because the dock workers went on strike. Being a young farmer (21) I was not going to sell my beans for $ 8.00, I sold them for $ 5.15. I was a freshman at the school of Hard Knocks at the time. I learned a very valuable lesson. Don’t let pride overtake your marketing decision, or any other decisions. “The heart is deceitful above all things”. I’ve got a head on me, it just works a little slow. Grin.
Bingo.
It didn't make sense how we got here.. $13 wheat.. it's not gonna make sense in the fallout.. "We're down how much?!?"
The market doesn't care.. it's going to fall until buyers.. real buyers.. not fund managers looking to scam a buck or two.. can afford it.
.. and in this economy.. what can Africans pay for wheat?
What can Feeders pay to fatten livestock during a recession?
... that's what it's worth. |
