| I have a Deere 1770 with a ground drive transmission and has been giving us some issues. When we start planting the population runs normal, but after an acre or two, the population drops down to the low 20K range. Whatever is happening then puts some pressure on the drive chains, and ends up busting a chain on the planter; not always the same chain. We have replaced both half-width disconnects and that hasn't helped anything. We've also been through and replaced anything with any obvious wear in the transmission. When the planter is unfolded, you can turn it easily by hand so it doesn't appear at least that anything has an obvious bind. Any one have any ideas?
