How fast does someone need? 10 is fast enough for 4 streaming devices at once in my house. More might give me slightly higher picture quality with 4 running, but 10 does the job just fine.

Well - - - - every year the website get loaded down with more male bovine excrement that takes more bandwidth.

Banking used to work fine on a 56k baud session some 20 odd years ago.
Today if you don't have at least a 5 Mbit connection - - - - you likely won't get good enough handshaking and you will be sol for transactions.

My guess inside of 5 years you will NEED a 25 MBit connection to function - - - - that will be the new bottom end.
(Its called feature creep and it has been with us for a long time!!! - - - they used to run pcs on 128 KB you know!!! At one time the quote was that you would never need more than 640KB! (Still laughing at that one!!!!)
This system put together in 2011 has 64 GB of ram! and I find at times I could use more!!!!!!!!!!!!)
