Add a couple pounds of grass to your alfalfa. Dandelions spring up wherever there is a dead spot, grass seems to help with that. Driving around here any field that is straight alfalfa where the alfalfa is starting to thin has a bit of dandelions. Also, I think yellow flowers point to sulfur. We are also organic and add sulfur and boron to our k fertilizer for our hay fields.
