Subject: hydro question on 854 rogator

South Central Nebraska

We just bought a 95 854 rogator. Having never run one before I am not sure what normal is, but when going down a hill, when gravity is pushing it along, it will tend to "freewheel" faster than the speed it was set until it slows down enough for the hydro to kick in. If you pull back on the hydro it will slow down. My question is how much of this is normal, I would assume a little bit is but if it is too bad is there a problem in a check valve or something on the hydro. It seems to do this in 2wd or 4wd. Also when in road gear and you pull back on the hydro to stop, the hydro doesn't seem to completely stop it. It tends to coast to a stop or you have to use the brake. Obviously the faster you are going the worse it is. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any input anyone might have.
