I think the spikes are usually 8-10" new, check out your sweeps make sure you do not have any that are bent upward on the point from setting it down with weight on it, another cause can be too much trash-try to level the toolbar/adjust it, or you may even be hanging up the chains on the drag, we added 3' pieces of 2" rubber hose on the suspension chains to go around the chains, to keep them from getting tangled/snagged.
