Cloverland, Wa | That’s a pretty neat outfit. Certainly reminds me of a Moscow leveler with the rack and pinion, but doesn’t look nearly as crude as a Moscow. On the Moscow leveler, the rack didn’t actually do the leveling, but rather kept the wheels in register with each other. The leveling was done with hydraulic cylinders. I’ve got what’s left of a JD 55 with a Moscow, and two 55s with Dave Neil levelers.
An old fellow that I used to know in Pomeroy said his dad traded off his pull type Harris on a 55H. Salesman told him the 55 would cut just as much as the big Harris…. I guess he was pretty disgusted when he figured out that was not the case.
