I did exactly what you are describing last year only with pearl millet which is very similar to Sudan grass. I planted 15 pounds per acre. I am doing it again this year only I added in mixed species to it so it is not straight pearl millet. Without getting into specifics and I don’t know how many acres you’re doing or cattle numbers I think about knee to waist high is perfect to turn into. Give it about a 20-28 day break.
