More fatty meat (steak, hamburger, bacon, etc.) and fewer carbs and vegetables in general is what works for me. No grains and we have even cut out all we can of the vegetable oils (none at home and avoid all we can when we eat out).

I will eat a few extra carbs (very small amount) periodically (usually when we eat out - don't keep them at home) and just check my sugar after to see how my pancreas is progressing as far as healing. I've been diabetic though for 30+ years so a lot of damage to get over, including the extra damage from taking a lot of insulin shots for a long time (worsening insulin resistance and causing additional weight gain).

Your results may vary. That is just the way I see it for me.
