| If you're looking at aphids being one of your spray application to justify a sprayer, then you need to go SP. Unless you want to damage more crop with your tractor and pull type, the SP is the only way to go. You also need to look at field speed. I know some people talk about going 10 MPH with a PT, but not in my fields. I normally run at 12 MPH with my SP. If you figure 90 foot booms on both and increase your field speed from 6-7 MPH with a PT and up 10-12 MPH with a SP you can really cover a lot of ground. You'll also have a lot mess ground compaction with a SP. Figure you're driving a tractor and a sprayer that is putting nearly all the weight of the sprayer on 2 wheels. Look for a Sp that is balanced and divides the weight between all 4 wheels. | |
