| The iPhone SDK uses a variation of some common programming language - it's supposed to be easier to use than whatever it is based off of. Here's an address - do some reading on it. It's all greek to me! :)

The iTunes Store is the only place you can get apps for the iPhone or iPod Touch - UNLESS you jailbreak them. Then you can get apps off the net and get them onto the device. I won't jailbreak mine - Apple has a tendency to cause bricked devices when they update the OS if it's jailbroken. It's usually only a few days before someone figures out a work-around though.
I would think that some sort of field record keeping app or cattle management app would sell if you could get the word out on forums like this. There are all kinds of spreadsheet and database apps out there for the iPhone - but some guys wouldn't want to mess around setting up their own databases. | |
