Hooray for you!
I wish I could say the same. My A1C has come in at 5.8-5.9 the last two times. So I am still in the pre-diabetic category. Keep in mind I had been taking insulin shots for probably around 20 years. It may be some of my beta cells in my pancreas are damaged beyond repair. I recently have started taking metformin again after not taking it the last couple years (off all other prescription medication other than eye drops).
My after meal blood glucose reading are excellent. But my morning fasting glucose levels are still around 125 which is higher than I want to see.
Hopefully over time it will get better. It may not. I have been diabetic for around 30 years total (started on just oral medication) so I may not be able to completely reverse all the damage done in those many years. But I am a way better off now than I was three years ago before the diet change.
