Yes, takes a 5/16 socket in a drill to run it. Best to use a higher speed as it is slow if using the slower speeds. This is with a cordless drill. Not a super powerful winch but not advertised as such either.
As with most items, there are some way cheaper Chinese knockoffs but I stayed with Warn.
