Conger, MN | People on this website need to start having more kids, and more of them need to be rural. In my area, the number of small farms (and farm families) is a fraction of what it was 40 years ago.
Back then, all those family farms with numerous kids meant that many more people that could hunt . . .but it also meant that there were many more land owners that could give permission to their buddies from town or cousins from the City.
Now, the huge farms make it tough for people that don't have connections to find someone to give permission. It used to be you could just stop at the farm house at the end of the quarter, and that would likely be the owner. Harder to say "no" to a nice, polite young guy in person, than to say no to someone that found the owner on the internet, and called to get permission. | |
