West Central Illinois | Used to be around our area opening day of shotgun season for deer would sound like a war zone. Every farm pretty much either the landowner and their friends/relatives would be out hunting shooting some does, yearlings, etc. nobody was paying to hunt was just a "you had to know somebody" kind of thing. Now probably almost same amount of hunters but 75% of those farms are outfitted so these guys from NY, PA, GA, AL, NC the list goes on (99% of these guys are from out east i guess is what i'm saying) and these guys that pay thousands to hunt for 3 days of gun season came here to get a buck. If they don't see a big buck they won't fire a shot. Hardly heard any shots all weekend in the area just a few i guess.
