The 2-cyl. JD Diesels would do that if you killed it & it jerked backwards as it died. Usually scared the crap out of the operator when smoke & oil started puking out the intake stack, but I never knew it to hurt one. Saw it happen to a 70D hooked to the pulling sled, the guy was completely bewildered, kept trying different gears & all the forward ones would back him into the sled...
