Southeast | Are you constantly adjusting the pulley to compensate for sag in the gird voltage? Especially if this is in a production application I would look at a variable frequency drive (VFD). Really easy to setup and adjust and will make the mechanical side simple and standard.

***Edit*** I meant to add that trying to adjust speed on an induction motor with a rheo-stat or vari-stat is doable but hard on the motor, inefficient, outdated tech, and the stats burn out quickly.
