The National WWI musuem in Kansas City is very good.

The Steamboat Arabia musuem there is good as well. It was a steamboat that sunk in the 1850s in the missouri river, and was found in the 1980s with its cargo intact buried in the mud in a soybean field. Its was carring an entire boatload of supplies for a town in nebraska, so is a snapshot of what a general store in the 1800s would have stocked
