Subject: RE: Opinion on compaction

Holland, Indiana (SW IN)
Doing my thing - 10/13/2021 06:29

I rent a field that has springs in it. Most all fields around are in great shape to harvest. This one I tried to combine the beans and started making ruts. I have rwd and spinning most of the time so I stopped and moved to the next farm. The landlord stopped to ride with me and told me compaction is a myth. I don't like to make tracks or repair them. What is nat opinion? Continue to combine or the way the weather forecast looks wait for a freeze. Its 55 acres of soybeans. I have about 10 already done. Corn bean wheat rotation will be soybeans next year then wheat after that. Also the landlord is willing to put tile in this winter in the problem spots.

SO you can make it to cut the beans and cut some ruts -----Cut the Soybeans ----they can loose so much yield with weather changes

Just saying Dan

And edit to add ---just tiling the wet spring areas sure helps
