If I remember the story and video of a walgreens robbery correctly, they can steal up to $950 without being prosecuted in Frisco. Stores don't have authority to stop them either?

KPRC in San Francisco reports that since Boudin made theft under $950 a misdemeanor, and police no longer even bother to arrest people for shoplifting, criminals have taken notice
- not only that, but if you read the article, they no longer will arrest you for a secondary crime, meaning that if you get pulled over for speeding, the officer can only give you a speeding ticket, and has to ignore the AK-47 sitting in the passenger seat, unless he saw it there BEFORE the stop. | |
