Subject: 30% of corn left, 25% soybeans, 90% of HRW wheat left to plant.

Storage is filling fast as yields are all over the board.

Dryland corn is finished at APH yields
Irrigated still have a third to go at 130% of APH
Got the double crop soybeans left to go.. probably 75 to 80% of APH but full seasons are out at APH.. probably 25% left.

Just started HRW wheat sowing.. maybe 10% in

got 0.33” yesterday.

Irrigated Corn test plot where the check averaged over 300 bushels.. probably best so far.

Is climate change helping us?  With all the Carbon and so called “Green House” effect.. the coop has added.. maybe 5 million of storage, the ethanol plant just announced a million bushel expansion.. and we’re still piling grain on the ground.. If we have 7 billion mouths to feed.. do we want to “fix” the climate the way we “fixed” sulfur.. which we now have to purchase and apply?

Cleaner air is a benefit but with no more moisture than we received.. yields have mostly been good.  I don’t believe we can credit the gains totally on genetics.

one reason harvest is dragging out is storage limitations.. ground piles will soon be the primary option unless the shuttle loaders can fill trains.
