Price a replacement of either option you speak of. There is a reason, and it is related to keeping the CEO and the stockholders happy, not the customer.

I'll stick with my manual transmissions.

Automotive CVTs are hot garbage, worse than an automatic, which sucks in itself. If you trade before 100K, your pro-automatic opinion is null and void. :)




I have read of Ford and Toyota E-CVT's that have run 500,000 miles of patrol or taxi service that are still working, so hardly hot garbage. My last remaining manual transmission rig, a mid size pickup, had the manual transmission and clutch fail at 150,000 miles. $1200 repair bill, now that was hot garbage .
