West central missouri | In the 80's I was a young veterinarian in Brookfield when Bill Sayre started his longhorn consignment sale. Dick was an early and enthusiastic supporter. One year there had been a lot of noise about a beef bull that sold for an exorbitant amount of money and Dick decided to top it. He bought a bull for $10,000 dollars at the sale and paid for it with a million pennies in cash. He arranged it ahead of time and cleaned out all the pennies from local banks and rolled into the ring with a million pennies in a wheel barrow to pay for the bull as soon as he went out of the ring.
