Subject: RE: Going to Colorado Springs

Pikes Peak train, Cripple Creek gold mine and shaft tour, Museum of Mining, zoo, plenty of antique stores. Forney Museum of Transportation in Denver (home of some very unique vehicles as well as a Big Boy locomotive), small museum at the entrance to Ft Carson, Helen Hunt Falls. Old Colorado City is a nice walk and has a great ice cream store. Mason Jar is a great cafe style place in that area too. Garden Of The Gods. I could go on and on. At Cripple creek there is also a nice little steam excursion train ride around the gold mine area. Would be a good time for the little one. Also a great hands on museum next to the Mary Kate (I think thats the name) shaft mine you can tour. Last I knew you could take a guided tour of the active gold pit mine, but you need to sign up way in advance.
