Nw Iowa
I noticed it Saturday, we have ran out of moisture. Here gloom and doom we talked about has arrived. I thought chance of 200 on some of farms that got better rains earlier but that has disappeared fast. Beans and Corn going south fast. Farms that have been on short end of stick have some 40-60 bpa corn yield spots. Drought is now very real here. A 2” soaker would make a big deal in beans but has to happen this week. It has all gotten very real last couple of days. We are black dirt with heavy clay underneath. Not being dramatic but it has become very real. Some got a 1/2 rain last week but tank is dry and dint make much of a difference. We are in a area that almost always gets a rain before too late, but this is not the year. Kind of shocked how fast last couple of days have shrunk crop.
