This is what several of us at work use.

They are supposed to be the same as a 125 watt electric solder iron. It also has a couple of torch type tips for doing heat shrink tubing. They work pretty well for wires up to 10 ga, better with 18ga wire though. For big work like #8 or larger wire you almost need a propane torch. For inside work with small wire or electronics a temp controlled solder gun is a must. I use a Weller solder station in the shop and at home.
