Central Nebraska | 15 years ago I my wife and I had purchased an odd sized refrigerator/freezer combo to fit the opening in our kitchen. Our community had experienced a low voltage situation and a few days later the unit quit working. Being fully aware of what had caused the problem I was hoping I could replace a power supply and resuscitate it. Fortunately, when I pulled off the back cover I found a circuit board that had a small glass fuse soldered onto it. The fuse was blown. It was 4:55 pm in the dead of winter but a quick call to the local automotive parts store and a quick trip down town to get the fuse gave me hope. I pulled the board, carefully used my soldering iron to remove and replace the fuse and put it back together. A close friend's mother now lives there and recently confirmed the fridge is still working. |
